Extended Functions Forms Repository

Designer Extended Functions, better known as XF, is a Designer extension that works with one or more databases (SQL, Oracle, DB2) using a forms repository with valid design forms and objects, which allows users to replace obsolete form and object versions (due to quality, size, etc.) with more updated versions.

Forms evolve and change over time. The consequence of this is that often employees of the same organization may use different versions of a form, confusing customers and ultimately damaging the organization's corporate image. With XF this is avoided. How? By storing all valid form versions in a central repository and granting administration rights only for certain people to prevent undesired overwriting and by providing a read-only mode for production forms so they can not be edited once they are put into production.

Thanks to the forms repository, that presents different available form versions in a tree structure, users responsible for design will be able to easily access and work with different forms and objects for which they have access privileges.

For environments with multiple production machines, XF controls distribution of packages that include different form versions, using reports to keep track of which form version or which objects are being used, etc. This tool also creates lists of the forms with information such as the authors, comprising objects, versions, etc.

Uniform promotional concepts are maintained by controlling which form versions are used in different environments (from Development to Production) from a central repository.
