A Spanish branch of an important European insurance company launched a project of substituting its old branch printing systems.

The challenge was important as it implicated a series of requirements such as maintaining the existing transaction generation structure (based on the IBM, CICS system), using or migrating existing documents (more than 200 AFP documents), and using a ®Windows server in a web environment or providing a specific security mechanism which would guarantee the security of the generated documents and their elimination once printed.

The DocPath solution that the customer selected

Different providers proposed alternative solutions but only DocPath provided the solution that met all of the proposed security requirements. Additionally, DocPath developed a Web based document management interface that provided useful functions that weren’t considered at the beginning of the project. These functions included the option of sending the documents via e-mail, a filter for different data fields and alert messages for anomalous situations.

At the heart of the solution is the document archiving and retrieval system by which documents are archived when they are generated and eliminated once they are printed, according to the insurance company’s requirement.
